Paddington Basin

I had brunch at Bondi Green recently and was pleasantly surprised to see so much contemporary art both inside the restaurant and outside all along the canal.
Image 1 = An entire wall of Australian “felt” foods by Lucy Sparrow (@sewyoursoul) lines the private dining room in Bondi Green — and you’ll also see works by LUAP (@luap) and Ant Hamlyn (@anthamlyn) and a few other artists inside the restaurant
Image 2 = I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t realise this outdoor sculpture by Gavin Turk (@thisisnotgavinturk) was a sink plug until I got home and looked carefully at my photo. I thought it was something to reference the mooring of the canal boats!
Image 3 = I really really REALLY wanted to see The Rolling Bridge by Heatherwick Studios (@officialheatherwickstudio) unfold, but alas, it’s only scheduled to do that every Wednesday and Friday at noon and every Saturday at 2pm.
Image 4 = I like when people randomly walk by and match the outdoor art — and I like this metal spectrum by Liz West (@lizweststudio)
And there’s more! So if you haven’t been to Paddington Basin yet, it might make for an interesting afternoon.
